Australia has been named as a top popular holiday destination, according to a recent Neilson survey of New Zealanders.
The result of this survey notes that Australia's main attractions for New Zealand tourists are its shopping, affordability and providing the chance for many to catch up with family and friends.
Australia remained a popular destination in spite of the current economic climate, with the majority of survey participants planning to take up to two international holidays within the next 12 months. The survey, which was commissioned by Visa, shows that 80 percent of New Zealand residents surveyed were planning to take a trip to Australia within the next two years.
